Supporting charitable causes . . .
In addition to our end-of-term concerts, Euphonix has, over the years, performed at places like the concourse of Waterloo Station in December for national charities (e.g. Scope and CRISIS), and around the borough collecting for similar good causes (e.g. Marie Curie).
Here are some of the more recent charities that Euphonix has supported with links to their websites (the information will move on every 20 seconds, however you can move onto the next charity by tapping one of the white circles below the current entry).

On 17 July 2025 Euphonix in collaboration with The Downland Chorale held their Summer Concert in All Saints Church, Kingston. This was a departure from Euphonix' usual arrangment in that it was an evening concert and it featured another Choir. Full details of the event can be found on the News page.
The profits from the sale of refreshments and retiring collection which was in support of Kingston Bereavement Support (KBS), a local charity, meant that Euphonix has been able to forward a donation of £700.00. Euphonix would like to express their appreciation to the volunteers from KBS who gave up their time to run the bar facilities before the concert and during the interval.

ShowerBox
ShowerBox a national charity, that operates in London (Registered Charity Number 1198395) was this term's nominated charity. Our Spring Concert held on 26 March 2025 in the Rose Theatre Café, Kingston raised £785.88 for the Charity.
ShowerBox provides free and secure shower space for those facing homelessness. As a charity they believe that everyone deserves to feel clean and dignified. They are committed to providing ShowerBox guests with the support they need to look after themselves.
The founder of ShowerBox in a message of thanks wrote that
"... The amount raised is phenomenal, and makes such a difference to our work at ShowerBox. To put it into perspective, it heats the water for our Central London weekly service for a whole year."

Kingston Foodbank
December 2024 the Choir dedicated two of its seasonal events in support for the local charity Kingston Foodback, raising £585.
Kingston Foodbank was established in 2011, and is part of the Trussell Trust national network of Foodbanks. In 2024 they provided emergency food to over 11,000 local people. 77 tonnes of food was donated and distributed through 6 local centres across the borough.

As part of it's traditional fund raising efforts during the festive season, the Choir performed a selection of Christmas songs and carols on the stage in Kingston's Christmas Market on 4 December. Support from the public at this event raised £220 for Kingston Foodbank.
At it's end of term concert on 11 December, held in the Rose Theatre Café, a further £365 was collected.
CRISIS
CRISIS is the national charity seeking to end homelessness. In the run up to the festive season CRISIS try to raise awareness of the rough sleepers on the streets of our towns and cities throughout the year, and particularly during the cold winter months.
5 December 2024, the Choir met in the morning under the clock and around the Christmas Tree at Waterloo Station to sing Christmas songs and carols to raise money for the national charity CRISIS. This revived a Euphonix tradition that had to be abandoned due to the COVID pandemic. During that day Euphonix and other choirs helped raise £2,125 for CRISIS.
9 December 2019: Euphonix sang Christmas Carols and Songs for CRISIS (the national charity seeking to end homelessness) under the famous clock on London Waterloo Station concourse. The choir received the following message of thanks from the Community and Events Executive Team at CRISIS -
"We have now finished counting the amounts raised at our Christmas collections and I am very pleased to let you know that the collection you sang at raised a fantastic £601.17!
"Across all the collections we’ve now reached over £32,000, which is an absolutely staggering amount!
"I would like to say a huge thank you to the Euphonix choir members for singing for us and helping us raise this much, we really appreciate your support.
"Please do let me know if you’d like to sing for us next December, we’d love for you to be involved again."
Kingston WelCare
Euphonix has supported Kingston WelCare twice.
Summer Season 2023 ended on 12 July with a lunchtime concert at one of it's regular venue's, All Saints Church. Donations from the audience totalled £463.60.
Summer Season 2024 ended on 17 July. Again the lunchtime concert at All Saints Church. Donations from the audience totalled £520.46.
Kingston WelCare is a friendly and welcoming place for parents and families of all backgrounds to meet, support each other, and receive guidance and advice about the daily challenges of parenting. Their services include regular drop-in family sessions, a café and play area, events and activities for families, and support for parents experiencing mental health challenges.

RNLI
20 March 2024 Euphonix held its end of term contract at the Rose Theatre Café in aid of the RNLI. Donations received at the concert raised a staggering £780.05. This is perhaps the largest sum collected at one of our lunchtime concerts; a fantastic achievement that far exceeded expectations!
2024 marks the 200-year anniversary of the founding of the RNLI. Euphonix is one of a number of choirs from across the UK that will be dedicating events to raising funds for the charity during 2024.
The nearest Lifeboat Station to Kingston is based at Teddington and the stats show that its lifeboat was launched 96 times in 2023. The concert kicked off with an insight given by a Teddington Lifeboat Station volunteer into the hazardous work they undertake each time they get an alert.
Momentum
December 2023, Euphonix performed a number of events to raise money for Momentum. The amount collected over December amounted to £637.86.
Momentum was founded in 2004 to help families of seriously ill children; from hospital to home, making sure that no family has to cope alone. The charity supports families across SW London, Surrey and Sussex whose children are facing cancer or a life-challenging condition. They’re there whatever the outcome, and as long as it is needed. RALPHH - Robert Allen, Life Promotion & Healthy Hearts Trust
May 2025: Rehearsal plant sale raised £188.45 from members.
Spring Concert 2023; this was the second occasion that the Choir dedicated its end of term concert in support of RALPHH, raising £530.41. This is a local charity and the Choir is pleased to be associated with it. The aims of the Charity are for the detection of undiagnosed heart conditions amongst young athletes, providing education on coronary problems involved in sports and providing defibrillators at club and sports venues.

Refugee Action Kingston
In November & December 2022 Euphonix raised £1,002.61 for this Charity.
Refugee Action Kingston has supported refugees and asylum-seekers in and around the Kingston area for over 30 years. Recently, their incredible staff and volunteers have helped over 1,500 clients a year with a variety of issues ranging from counselling to language skills, or advice ranging from Legal matters, housing, health and education, careers and volunteering. The Samaritans - Kingston Branch
In July 2022 Euphonix held its end of term concert in aid of the Kingston Branch of the Samaritans, raising £564.69.
Since 1968, Kingston Samaritans have been helping those struggling to cope, including through our work locally (Kingston, Surbiton, Esher, New Malden, Richmond) and nationally. In 2022, their branch spent a total of 7,300 hours responding to more than 27,600 calls for help. 87% of these calls for help were phone contacts and the remaining were email contacts. Ukrainian Refugees Disaster Appeal
In response to the Disasters Emergency Committee's Appeal for funding, Euphonix used the opportunity of its Spring Concert in 2022 to dedicate it to raising funds for refugees fleeing the war.
Like other voluntary groups in Kingston, Euphonix was determined to lend its support.
The audience at the Spring concert in 2022 donated £536.34 to assist in the refugee crisis.
Singing carols at Christmas for charities we are supporting:
London Waterloo Station, Kingston's Christmas Market, local churches, and even department stores.
One of the annual traditional events in the Euphonix calendar is singing a medley of Christmas songs and carols in a variety of different places; whether it be Kingston's Christmas Market, or under the famous clock at London Waterloo Station, or a local department store, or Christmas Tree festivals in local churches.
